Description Sarmassa Barolo is grown on a rather steep south-east facing hill.
Here the soil dates back to the Helvetian age: it is calcareous and clayey, very compact and with many stones and gravel.
The high number of stones, together with the presence of clay, limits the growth of the vine thus allowing the grapes to reach complete maturation.
- It pairs perfectly with the traditional egg pasta from the Langhe area (tajarin and ravioli del plin). Excellent also with roasts, boiled or braised meats and with game. Perfectly suits goat cheese and mature cheese.
- Full bodied and elegant, good tannins and intensity.
- Strong garnet red.
